Why Creativity Matters
The future belongs to creative thinkers. The Blue Brain Teacher makes it simple for educators to teach creativity with tools that are practical, research-based, and impactful.

Helping Schools See What’s Possible
At WNY Tech Academy, I guided a Foursight session to help teachers collaborate more effectively and solve creative challenges together.
We also mapped the student journey to uncover moments where creativity could transform the student experience.
This is what The Blue Brain Teacher is all about helping educators unlock creativity with practical, research-backed tools.

The Impact of Creativity in Education
Research shows that creativity isn’t just nice to have it’s a key driver of student success, engagement, and future readiness. Here are just a few ways it makes a measurable difference.
What Students Really Need to Create
Creativity begins with a sense of safety, the confidence to take risks, share ideas, and show up fully as yourself. During one of our sessions on psychological safety, I asked students to reflect on what makes them feel safe and supported in the classroom. Their words say more than any statistic could.
Students shared what they need to thrive: “to be myself,” “not to be scared,” “it’s okay to need help,” “not hide me.” These heartfelt responses remind us that before we can unlock creativity, we must create environments where students feel seen, heard, and valued. This is the foundation of The Blue Brain Teacher approach.

The Blue Brain Teachers Impact
Through practical tools, creative strategies, and real-world implementation, The Blue Brain Teacher has reached thousands of educators and classrooms helping teachers unlock creativity and students gain confidence, resilience, and innovative thinking skills.

Meet Selma – The Blue Brain Teacher
Hi, I’m Selma Dawani, founder of The Blue Brain Teacher. I help educators unlock creativity in every learner with tools that are practical, research-based, and designed for real classrooms. As a teacher, I saw how rigid systems stifled curiosity in students and teachers. So I set out to change that. Drawing on research and creative problem-solving frameworks, I developed The Blue Brain Teacher to make creativity accessible and teachable at every grade level. I’ve created 341 resources, reaching thousands of educators, and collaborated with schools and districts through workshops and hands-on sessions. My work helps teachers create safe, inspiring spaces where students grow into confident, resilient thinkers ready for the future.

The Research Behind What’s Next

Based on Research. Recognized by Experts. Built for You.
My master’s thesis Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Creativity Education: Developing a Creative Problem-Solving Course for Higher Education explored how AI can help foster creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving in classrooms.
Since completing it, my work has been cited in multiple academic papers from leaders in AI and education recognizing its relevance and impact on the future of teaching and learning.
I’m now exploring ways to turn this research into a course or resource for educators and schools and I’d love to hear if this is something you’d find valuable.
