Let me start by saying this:
I am not a “put-myself-out-there-online” kind of person.

If you’ve followed my work over the past 13 years, you’ve likely read my blog, used my resources, or met me at a training, a classroom visit, or a conference. Maybe once in a while, you’ve seen a video… but let’s be honest, those are rare. And there’s a reason for that:

I’m just not a natural public speaker.
Being “live” makes me anxious. I overthink everything. I stumble. I dread how I look, how I sound, whether I’m “doing it right.”
And the idea of being visible online in a performative way? It’s been creatively paralyzing.

So instead, I’ve built everything I do around writing:
Blogs. Frameworks. Curriculum.
It’s where I feel clear, grounded, and useful.

You’ve seen my thinking. You’ve used my tools. But you haven’t really seen me, at least not in a video, not in your feed, not in the typical “online educator” way.

And until now, that’s been 100% intentional.

But here’s the shift.

This year, I decided to stop letting that block hold me back and I turned to AI to help.

Enter Cera, my new digital teaching assistant. She’s an AI avatar built using my voice, my tone, and my thinking. She’s here to bring the Blue Brain Teacher message to life in a way that lets me stay grounded and authentic without being stuck.

She’s not here to replace me.
She’s not generating ideas or writing posts.
She’s just helping me show up in ways I couldn’t before.

What This Actually Means

  • I still write every word.
  • I still design every resource.
  • I still respond to emails, build curriculum, and write the frameworks you use.

But now, instead of hiding because I don’t want to be on video, I can put my work into the world in a way that feels possible for me.

This isn’t me disappearing.
It’s me finally finding a way to show up fully, on my terms. YEY!

Meet Cera

You’ll start seeing Cera more and more on my blog pages, in emails, in short videos that explain how tools work or what’s inside the upcoming Foundations Creative Thinking Curriculum.

She’s here to support you, help your students thrive, and share everything I’ve built for creative classrooms.

Think of her as my front-facing voice.
But know that I’m still here, behind every word, every spark, and every standard.

AI Selma & AI Cera

Here’s a photo of the two of us together, AI-Selma and AI-Cera. Still me. Just tech-assisted.

Let’s Hear it from Cera

Yep, that’s Cera, my AI-powered teaching assistant.

She’s the one in the videos, the PDs, and popping into your feed with creative ideas.

I still write the words.
She just says them better (and never forgets her lines).

  • Powered by tech
  • Fueled by my voice
  • Here to make “showing up” feel doable

I hope that this is a direction that you feel ok with. I wanted to be transparent as possible and hope that you enjoy watching her as much as I have enjoyed creating her!
