Idea Generation is employing divergent thinking in hopes of generating many innovative concepts, solutions, or possibilities to address a problem and/or explore new opportunities.

  • Idea generation involves using divergent thinking tools to generate a wide array of potential ideas.
  • Students can use various analog CPS tools in ChatGPT and use the answers as a sort of digital reference group!
  • ChatGPT can offer diverse ideas, prompt creativity, and inspire students with out-of-the-box thinking.
    • Encourage students to use ChatGPT as a creativity booster. They can provide ChatGPT with a seed idea and ask it to generate variations or combinations, helping them explore unconventional solutions.
    • ChatGPT can suggest ideas from different fields. Students can ask for ideas from unrelated domains, which can spark innovative approaches by connecting disparate concepts.
